Whether you have kiddos too young for regular school yet, or are currently "regular schooling" the older ones, you are still their parent; still teaching them not only HOW to learn, but about so much past what they could actually learn in "regular school." Not only are you their first teacher of LIFE; how to make friends, how to handle dissapointment, stress, what teamwork is, how to influence others positively, how to have self esteem....you can still be the main "brain" teacher...about writing, calculating, environment...and such.
I have had both experience with "regular" and home schooling. They both have their pluses and minuses. The real point is that you must find a balance at the different times in your life where you may do both or make a choice.
